Is Gandhism relevant in today?

VIEW: All peaceful measures yield no result
Is Gandhism relevant in today?
I agree that in any country, violence and vandalism to protest is simply uncalled for as these goes against the grain of being a civilized country. But why has youth now chosen to vent their anger through violence?
Yes, literally I feel the days of Gandhism are no longer valid in today's context and why be it so? When we see our very own representatives fighting among themselves in the highest platform of democracy and policemen and bureaucrats openly taking bribes, what type of example they are setting before us.

To make the situation equally grim, the government is doing nothing but now I firmly believe that only violent means is the last resort.
Though violence in any form is condemnable but what can one do when the VC of Meerut University refused to address the genuine grievances of students?
What other alternatives remain before youth when they see papers of colleges being checked by the teens in UP. What had made Rang De Basanti, a cult film for today's youth? Put it simply –They are films that preache great protest through violent means.
And its quite obvious youngsters far and wide take it up because it shows them the way to change the system that is perpetually rotting.
